Shopee is one of the leading e-commerce platforms in Southeast Asia, making it an essential choice for sellers looking to tap into this rapidly growing market. For new sellers looking to start their online business, Shopee offers a unique combination of wide exposure, and a supportive ecosystem. So today we will introduce how to create a Shopee account, a crucial first step for anyone interested in joining this dynamic platform.
When we use Shopee for the first time, we can create a Shopee seller account via Shopee APP.
Step 1: Create an account via the Shopee APP
After downloading Shopee, open the application and choose a registration method that suits you.
For example, you can choose to register with your mobile phone number. Enter your mobile phone number and obtain the verification code. Then set the login password and complete the personal information.

Step 2: Start Registration
Click on "Start Registration".
First, complete the store information, including the store name, Pickup Address and mobile phone number.
Then complete the identity verification.

Step 3: You can start listing products
Account creation and Registration can also be completed via Shopee website.

The following materials are generally required to open a Shopee account:
1. Personal Information
- Full name: As it appears on your ID or official documents.
- Date of birth: To verify your age (minimum 18 years old in most regions).
2. Business Information
- Business name: If you're registering as a business.
- Business registration number: Required for businesses in certain countries.
- Tax ID number: Some countries require a tax identification number for business accounts.
3. Contact Information
- Email address: For account registration and notifications.
- Phone number: A valid number for contact verification and two-factor authentication.
- Pickup Address
4. Bank Account Information
- Bank account details: Shopee requires a local bank account for transactions, and you’ll need to provide the account number and details for withdrawal of earnings.
- Bank account holder name: The name on the bank account should match the name used in your Shopee account.
5. Verification Documents (for identity and business verification)
- Government-issued ID: For identity verification (e.g., passport, national ID card, or driver’s license).
- Proof of address: A recent utility bill, bank statement, or government document showing your address.
- Business registration certificate: If you're registering as a business, you may need to upload this.
Common Problems:
Age Restriction: Shopee stipulates that sellers must be at least 18 years old. Users whose age does not meet this requirement will not be able to register an account successfully.
Duplicate Registration: Only one Shopee account can be registered by a legal person or an enterprise. If the same identity information is used for multiple registrations, it will be identified and rejected by the system.
The registration materials for different sites may vary. Please refer to the materials corresponding to the specific sites for details.
After completing the account creation and completing the store opening, you can directly use the Duoke software to reply to store messages.
