How to Set Up Shopee Vacation Mode?

When managing a Shopee store, sellers often need to return home for visits, take vacations during major holidays like Chinese New Year, or observe local public holidays when staff and customer service representatives are off duty. So, how can you maintain store response and shipping during time off?

I. What is Shopee Vacation Mode?

When sellers are temporarily unable to manage their Shopee stores due to long holidays, family visits, or other reasons, they can enable Vacation Mode to pause order acceptance. This helps avoid a decline in store response rate, a drop in buyer satisfaction, or penalties for delayed shipments caused by an inability to reply promptly or ship on time.

II. What Are the Effects of Vacation Mode?

1. When Vacation Mode is enabled, the following impacts occur:

  • All products become unsearchable and unviewable. Even if buyers enter your store, they cannot directly add items to their cart or place orders.

  • Your store's products will not appear on category or popular tag pages.

  • As a seller, you will be unable to create or edit products.

  • If auto-reply is enabled, it will be triggered when a buyer initiates a chat.

2. When Vacation Mode is disabled, it takes some time to restore store data:

  • All product stock will be restored to pre-Vacation Mode levels within 1 hour. You can then edit and relist products.

  • Buyers can search for your products, add them to their cart, or place orders.

  • Your products may take up to 24 hours to reappear on the shopping frontend based on recommendations.


 

III. How to Enable/ Disable Vacation Mode? 

1. Enabling Vacation Mode:

Step 1: Go to [China Seller Center > Settings > Shop Settings > Vacation Mode] and locate the Vacation Mode toggle.

Step 2: Click the Vacation Mode toggle. In the pop-up window, choose [Single Shop Operation] or [Batch Operation]:

Single Shop Operation: Enables Vacation Mode for the current store.

Batch Operation: Enables Vacation Mode for all stores under the seller.

Step 3: After enabling Vacation Mode, set up chat auto-reply to respond to buyer messages promptly, maintaining chat response rates and buyer satisfaction.

  "Dear buyer, thank you for visiting our store. Our store will be closed from December 1 to June 10. During this period, we will respond to your chats within 48 hours. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We will contact you as soon as possible."
 Once Vacation Mode is enabled, buyers will see the following message on your store homepage: "The seller is on vacation. Like your favorite items and order when the seller returns."

2. Disabling Vacation Mode:

Go to [China Seller Center > Settings > Shop Settings > Vacation Mode], locate the Vacation Mode toggle, and turn it off to restore normal store operations.

 

 IV. How to Set Up Message Replies During Vacation? 

1. For long vacations where you wish to avoid penalties for unshipped orders or delayed shipment rates:

It is recommended to enable Shopee Vacation Mode to reduce buyer orders. Note that orders placed before enabling Vacation Mode must still be shipped according to the original schedule. If shipping on time is not possible, communicate and negotiate with the buyer. Also, enable auto-reply under Vacation Mode to ensure store service and buyer satisfaction.

 

2.If you are on vacation but can still accept and ship orders:
