As TikTok Shop continues to evolve its e-commerce ecosystem in Malaysia, the platform has introduced a new fee structure aimed at enhancing logistics, user experience, and overall infrastructure. Effective February 15, 2026, the TikTok Shop Platform Support Fee is a fixed charge applied to all successfully delivered orders. Designed to create a more sustainable marketplace, this fee applies universally to both Mall and Marketplace sellers. What is the TikTok Shop Platform Support Fee?

To build a more sustainable and secure e-commerce ecosystem—including improvements to logistics, user experience, and infrastructure—TikTok Shop has introduced a Platform Support Fee. Similar to models seen on platforms like Shopee, this fee is charged by TikTok Shop Malaysia to all sellers, including both Mall and Marketplace sellers.

The Platform Support Fee has been officially implemented effective from 00:00 (Malaysia GMT+8) on February 15, 2026. It applies to all completed orders and is levied on every successfully delivered order. Importantly, for orders that are successfully delivered but subsequently returned or refunded, the Platform Support Fee is non-refundable to sellers.

 

How is the TikTok Shop Platform Support Fee Calculated?

The fee is structured as a flat rate of RM 0.50 per order, exclusive of the 8% sales and service tax (SST). Including tax, the total fee amounts to RM 0.54 per order.

This charge is applied uniformly, regardless of the order value. Whether it is a small RM 5 transaction or an order worth thousands of Ringgit, the fee remains a fixed RM 0.54 per order. This structure particularly impacts low-value orders; for a RM 5 order, the fee alone represents 10% of the total sale, directly compressing profit margins.

Exemptions from the Platform Support Fee

TikTok Shop has established clear criteria for fee waivers. Not all sellers or orders are subject to this charge, with exemptions categorized as follows:

1. Exemption by Business Scale:

  • Sellers with over 100 orders per month and a Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) exceeding RM 3,000 are required to pay the fee.

  • Sellers are eligible for a waiver if they have between 100 and 200 orders per month but a GMV of less than RM 3,000, OR if they have a GMV exceeding RM 3,000 but fewer than 100 orders per month.

- Note: The 30-day assessment period ends on the 16th of each calendar month. Eligible sellers will receive a waiver of the Platform Support Fee for the entire following calendar month.


2. Exemption by Product Category:

  • Orders for essential items, such as basic food staples and textbooks specified by the Malaysian Ministry of Education, are exempt from the fee.


3. Waiver for New Sellers:

  • New Marketplace sellers benefit from a exclusive grace period. Sellers are considered "new" for 120 days from the date they upload their first product. During this period, they are exempt from the Platform Support Fee.
